VIA Introduces The Eden Platform
Today VIA introduced their new integrated platform, Eden. Eden is VIA s latest ultra low power consumption effort, with an integrated fanless CPU onboard. Different versions of the CPU run at 1.05v to 1.20v on low profile motherboards. From the press release are these features as well:
* Integrated low power AGP2X/4X graphics with high performance 3D acceleration, and full 2D/video acceleration including motion compensation and up to 32MB Frame Buffer
* CRT/TFT/DSTN Flat Panel/DVI Panel Monitor Support
* AC 97 audio
* USB 1.1 and USB2.0
* Super I/O
* ATA-33/66/100 support
* 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
* MC 97 Fax/Modem
* Ethernet MAC & PHY
* TV-Out
* 1394
These setups will be on custom form factors with support for Windows 9x, Windows 2000/XP, Windows CE, and Linux. You can find the entire press release along with the white paper, pics of the boards, and a movie introducing the product here.
