ECS was a good company but now PC Chips bought this company. ECS is nothing more than the name now. PC Chips uses the technology of ECS and is selling their Mobos as ECS too like the K7S5A. At the beginning ECS did not offer PC Chips Mobos because they did not want everybody knows that but now they offer them and it looks like the name ECS will stop to exist in the future. However its nothing more than a name now and PC Chips was allways poor quality. I own a lot of these Boards from ppl who changed theirs to a good one as they had to much troubles with these Mobos, me too. You may ask you why do I own a K7S5A. Well as I bought it I did not knew PC Chips owns ECS. You may be a happy owner having no problems but there are to much of ppl with problems and the reason is PC Chips. Ok, I was able to eliminate my problems so good luck to everybody with his Mobo.

Thats right PC Chips is acting as Amptron too, expecially in the US market..  ECS was a good company even while not known in the USA. Their Mobos were used by many companies in Europe to build small server systems for small companys but they never used Mobos from PC Chips. They caused to much problems and the costs for support would be higher than what they would save and earn using PC Chips Mobos. Therefore all small server system building companys will tell you here in Germany PC Chips is crap. In the past ASUS, Gigabyte, ESC, Siemens/Fujitsu and Olivetti where the most used Boards. Ofcourse the situation changed a little bit and some of them do not offer the same quality than before. Some of them where known for quality, not for performance like Olivetti( made by Italy)or Siemens. I am not sure but I belive Olivetti does not exist anymore. PC Chips was never known for quality here, just for beeing cheap. Ofcourse they want to be known for quality but buying ECS do not will change this. They need better Mobo-Engeneers or a better Management. You have quality when the customer comes back, not the product itself.
