PowerLeap adaptor for Tualatin/Celeron on Slot 1 BX board
Posted by overclocker at 15:51
The PowerLeap™ PL-iP3/T™ is a new and unique upgrade solution for Slot-1 Pentium-II and Pentium-III systems. The PL-iP3/T™ uses PowerLeap's patented IPS™ technology to adapt existing Slot 1 motherboards and systems to the voltage and GTL signal requirements of the new generation of Intel's "Tualatin" Pentium III and Celeron-II (FC-PGA2) processors. With the PL-iP3/T™, a typical* P-III system can reach speeds up to 1.26 GHz with the latest Pentium III-S CPUs (133 MHz FSB required), and up to 1.2 GHz when used with the latest Celeron-II "Tualatin" CPUs (100 MHz FSB required for 1.2 GHz core speed).
*Note: compatibility may vary. Some untested systems and motherboards may have unforeseen compatibility issues - check our (preliminary) compatibility list in the left-hand column of this page, or contact tech support before purchasing. Our 30-day money back guarantee applies to all PowerLeap upgrades.
Special Features
Supports the latest .13 micron Intel "Tualatin" processors, including the 1.2 GHz Celeron with 256K L2 cache and Data Prefetch Logic.
Auto-configures the CPU voltage and frontside bus (manual FSB setting available).
Supports the "Tualatin" 1.475 VCORE requirement even on motherboards that don't (see list at left).
Integrated high-capacity switching VRM.
Meets Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) specifications 8.5, 8.4, 8.3, 8.2, and 8.1.
Patented Independent Power Source (IPS™) technology bypasses motherboard's VRM.
Power-on LED.
On-board cooling fan power connector.
Includes a removable retention cartridge.
Update: Now supports dual-processing (SMP) for the Pentium-III-S processe
