Theinquirer에 따르면 VIA에서 AMD의 해머시리즈의 출시와 맞춰 그에 맞는 칩셋을 개발중이라고 하며 VIA의 AMD Athlon CPU지원 칩셋중 최신칩셋인 KT400을 올 3/4분기나 말에 출시될것이라고 한다. 단 KT400의 샘플은 이미 제작되어 있다고 한다.
이는 아마도 지금 시장에 대한 적절한 결과일것으로 보이는데 VIA의 해머시리즈 지원 칩셋의 주용스펙은 아래와 같다.
VIA K8HTA : AGP4X/8X port, 8X link, 800MHz HyperTransport, VT8235 South Bridge, supports HDIT will come on .22 micron technology and be built using a wirebond packaging. Sampling now, mass production Q3
VIA K8HTB : 1.5 volt, Supports a 4X/8X port, has 8X V-Link, 800MHz HyperTransport, VT8235 South Bridge, .22 micron technology, and comes in flip chip packaging. Samples in July, mass production in Q4
VIA K8UMA : Zoetrope GFX, again has AGP 4X/8X an 8X V link and has as its name suggests UMA support, .15 micron technology and a flip chip package, USB 2.0, six channel AC97 audio, 10/100 Ethernet, and support ATA 133. Samples in October, mass production in Q1 2003.
