현재 싱글 코어로 만들어진 Pentium4 프로세서의
코어인 Prescott 코어의 스테핑이 또 한번 변경될것이라고 한다.
이번 스테핑 변경은 EM64T 지원 LGA 775 기반의
Prescott 제품에 해당되며 E-0 스테핑이 G-1 스테핑으로 변경된다고 한다.
기존 E-0 스테핑과의 차이점은 아래와 같다.
? The CPU ID will change from 0xF41h to 0xF49h

BIOS is required
? Desktop G-1 Step processors will be Pb-Free Second Level
Interconnect (SLI) / RoHS compliant and
the integrated heat spreader (IHS)
will be marked per JESD97 guidelines with e4 designation
? Addition of 2 new
EM64T instructions LAHF/SAHF
? G-1 is pin compatible with E-0. The
thermal/mechanical specification is within overall package
height

? Intel anticipates no impact to current platforms
designed to Intel guidelines
? New S-Specs for affected product line items
